People celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, whom Christians believe to be the Son of God. Both Christians and non-Christians around the world join in the festivities. Over time, traditions have evolved, and celebrations differ across cultures.
Decorating a Tree
This popular tradition occurs in most countries. Families typically set up trees when the ‘ber months’ begin, decorating them with lights, ornaments, and tinsel. The tree becomes a central symbol in many homes.

For many Christians, the holiday is a religious observance. People attend church services and participate in rituals, such as Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.
Singing Carols
Did you know that the famous carol “Silent Night” first debuted on Christmas Eve in 1818? Singing carols has become a traditional way to celebrate with loved ones.
Celebrating with Family and Friends
This season often brings families and friends together to enjoy a delicious ‘Noche Buena’ (holiday feast), exchange special gifts, and create lasting memories.
