Do you know what is the most awaited, favorite and wonderful time of the year? It’s Christmas time! As the days grow shorter and the nights grow colder, the air is filled with the spirit of Christmas. The festive season brings with it a sense of joy, peace, and love.

Christmas is traditionally known as a celebration to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believes to be the Son of God. It is widely celebrated in the world by Christians and Non-Christians. There are traditional ways of celebrating this day that evolved over time and vary across cultures.

  • Decorating a Christmas Tree

This is the very popular tradition in most countries. Families usually set this up when ‘ber months’ kick in. Evergreen tree decorated with lights, ornaments and tinsel is a central symbol of Christmas in every home.

  • Gift-Giving

Ever heard of Santa Claus when you are a kid? In many cultures, Santa Claus brings gifts to children on Christmas Eve inside of their home through the chimney. Exchange gifts are also common with Secret Santa. The giving and receiving of gifts is a central part of Christmas, often symbolizes love, affection and generosity.

  • Attending Church Services

For many Christians, Christmas is a religious holiday that is celebrated with attendance at church services and participation in religious rituals. Best sample on this is the Midnight Mass on the Christmas eve.

Do you know that the famous Christmas Carol “Silent Night” was first performed on Christmas Eve in 1818? Singing Christmas Carols is one of traditional way to enjoy the spirit of Christmas together with your friends, families and loved ones.

  • Celebrating with Family and Friends

This is often a time for families and friends to gather together while enjoying scrumptious ‘Noche Buena’ (Christmas feast) exchanging special gifts and making good memories with each other’s company.
