Traveling with kids? Whether it’s a road trip, a long flight, or waiting at the airport, keeping little ones entertained without Wi-Fi can be tough. As a mom of a 6-year-old, I’ve tried a lot of games—and deleted just as many. Here are the offline games we actually keep on our device for travel time sanity.
1. Toca Boca World

Why It’s Great: Kids can build their own world, play out stories, and explore — all without internet.
Mom Tip: Download locations in advance!
2. Pepi Hospital

Platform: iOS, Android
Recommended Age: 4–8
Why It’s Great: Educational roleplay without ads. Kids can explore the hospital, care for patients, and stay engaged for 20+ minutes at a time.
3. Dr. Panda Town

Platform: iOS, Android
Recommended Age: 4+
Why It’s Great: Fully playable offline once downloaded. Tons of creative pretend play with no time limits or internet required.
4. Thinkrolls Play & Code
Short Description: A puzzle game that introduces logic, physics, and beginner coding skills through fun and engaging challenges.
Platform: iOS
Recommended Age: 5–9
Why It’s Great: Combines logic puzzles and coding concepts. No Wi-Fi, no ads, and surprisingly quiet play.
5. My Very Hungry Caterpillar
Short Description: Inspired by the classic book, this game follows a digital caterpillar as it eats, plays, and grows in a calm and creative world.
Platform: iOS, Android
Recommended Age: 3–6
Why It’s Great: Gentle, calm gameplay based on the classic book. Easy to use and doesn’t need internet once it’s loaded.
Final Tip
Before you leave, open each game at home to make sure all parts are downloaded. Not all games automatically store everything offline. These are the apps I rely on for peaceful, screen-time breaks while traveling. They’re safe, kid-tested, and mom-approved.
Happy travels, mama! 🚗
